Or maybe I should say, owlets. I ran across this cute little pattern on Ravelry. Now, in all fairness, the pattern did come with a warning label that it could be addictive. I would up that warning and suggest that this pattern be listed among other controlled substances. I think I'm starting to hallucinate, because these little guys are popping up everywhere:
This is a great way to use up scrap yarn. I used Lion Brand Homespun scraps and some of those extra buttons that come with everything you buy these days. I started making these around 9:00 this morning and couldn't stop myself until about 3:00. This is a great beginner's crochet project because, depending on the yarn, it can be very forgiving.Photo credits go to SJL Photography (my 13-year-old):

Very cute owlets! I didn't know you were learning to crochet. I have to say you're a brave soul to crochet with Lion Brand Homespun. It's so knarley (sp) it makes me too crazy to crochet with it.
Nice pics! Kudos to your cute li'l jailbird for sharing them! ;)
Love your owls! I'm going to have to check out that pattern.
The pictures are great too!
I love the owels so cute:)hugs Darcy
Very cute owls! Considering my blog is named "Le Petit Hibou" (which is French for The Little Owl) - I have a particular fondness for these guys. I'll have to check out the Ravelry pattern, although I can't crochet to save my life!
Nice pictures, too... she did a lovely job with them! Happy Knitting!
These are really cute! I love the yarn you used!
